life lately

hello! it's been a while! we've been quite busy with a toddler, a busy work schedule for caleb, a 5 day vacation to the coast, lots of hiking, and a nail-biting election this week. 

i have said this every single month this year, but i truly can't believe it's november. that being said, i am stoked out of my mind for the holidays. we have some fun alternative plans this year and i can't wait. i also am losing my mom how excited I am to decorate an entire HOUSE for christmas.  we have large windows in the front of our house that are just begging to display a christmas tree. 

the days are starting to be shorter (as promised would happen by many portlanders), the rain and foggy weather has arrived (which i am LOVING), and the trees are absolutely popping this week. i've been baking pumpkin muffins and cooking chili this week and sipping red wine in the evening as we watch election results trickle in. 

i'm looking forward to this upcoming season of the holidays. it will look different of course, but i can already feel the cheerful and jolly spirit starting to bubble up inside me.
