summer 2019 family bucket list

this summer is going to be awesome.

last summer was full of 'adulting'. being pregnant, purchasing our home, remodeling, and flying all over for weddings and family get togethers left us with virtually no time for summer fun. we camped once and hiked maybe twice. a far cry from the previous summer. this year we have quite a list of super fun things we will be doing. and i'm so excited to do them with the baby in tow!

1. swimming! we have a pool in our condo complex and i'm looking forward to taking august swimming.

2. hiking! obviously. one of my goals for 2019 was to summit one of the mountains around here (looking at you, mount olympus) with august on my back in the osprey. we'll see if i can do it.

3. europe! we are headed to switzerland in july. we'll spend five days with my brother and his wife and then head up to the swiss alps just the three of us to spend a week relaxing in the mountains. i have a lot of nervous excitement around this trip as we'll be trying to conquer jet lag with a 9 month old baby.

4. austin! we'll be heading to austin most likely twice this summer. it's HOT in austin in the summertime, but the vibes of that city are so rad. i'll be sipping frozen margs and hanging by the pool with my parents and family.

5. tennis! we have tennis courts where we live and also at our nearby park. caleb has played tennis since high school, and i'm slowly learning (the rules -- why so difficult?!!). i'm excited to put august in the guava and rally with caleb.

6. ventura, ca! we'll be heading to the beach at the end of summer to visit friends. i visited LA/santa monica for the first time last year and i'm looking forward to getting back to the west coast again. #westcoastbestcoast

7. balcony hangs! since re-doing our balcony we have LOVED hanging out outside. but this spring we've been fighting cold nights and some gnarly spring pollen. i'm looking forward to putting the baby to bed and sipping a cocktail out on our balcony watching the sunset and chatting with caleb. (fun fact: the sun sets sooo late in utah! usually around 10pm. i love it!)

8. lots of family visitors! since we live far from virtually all family, the summer is when they come around. i love showing them them the mountains, local city parks, and our favorite restaurants. and of course this means free babysitting! :) which means sneaking away on date nights with my favorite guy.

i'm so looking forward to summer. this season in utah is my favorite (let's be honest, they're all great in utah though). what are you fun summer plans this year??
