nursery tour

this time last year caleb and i didn't even own the condo we live in today. we purchased our condo in june of last summer, spent ten weeks remodeling and contracting work out, and then finally moved in on august 25. we then had about a month to finish whipping our space into place before focusing on baby's arrival. to say it was stressful is an understatement. it. was. awful.

but we survived. and we still love each other. and we know we'll never ever ever ever do that again.

now that it's done, it's a great space and i love what we've done with it. because we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl, i wanted to go with a playful + colorful + clean + calming vibe for the nursery.

i feel like i have rearranged/added/tweaked/removed/adjusted so many things in august's room since he was born. but, today, this is the state of his room. i realized a few weeks ago that i really didn't spend much time or energy focusing on decor for his room. i got the bare minimum done (i was on a time crunch to furnish/complete/decorate the rest of my home) and only now am starting to think about possibly purchasing art or more shelves or bookcases or whatever. his shelves look empty and the walls feel a little bare. but i have to believe as he grows and acquires different things it will quickly fill up.

we pride ourselves in not having baby gear scattered all around our small space. everything that belongs to august is kept in his room save for the diaper bag (stored by the front door) and the stroller (usually kept by the front door or our car). we chose not to do blackout curtains, and i'm very glad we skipped them. august doesn't need a completely dark room to sleep. this has worked out great for travel. i'm also a fan of all the storage bins/baskets. it makes clean up so easy. i'm so satisfied with this cheerful space!
